Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains what information GPS Coordinates Finder (“we”, “us”) collects and how it is used. We aim to collect as little as possible.
Location data
When you use the “My location” feature, your browser asks for your permission and provides your coordinates to your browser, where they are used to centre the map. We do not receive, log or store your device location. Points you click, search or share are processed to return results but are not tied to your identity.
Third-party services
To provide results we send the coordinates or search text you enter to:
- OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — map tiles, address search and reverse geocoding.
- Open-Meteo — elevation and timezone lookups.
- Overpass API — nearby places.
These requests are proxied through our server where possible. Each service has its own privacy practices.
Cookies & advertising
We may display ads through Google AdSense once approved. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising via Google Ads Settings. Where required, a consent banner will let you choose before any non-essential cookies are set.
Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand which tools are used. This data is not used to identify individuals.
Your choices
You can use the core tools without granting location access and without accepting non-essential cookies. To ask a question about this policy, contact us via the contact page.
